Darts, Dartboards and Dartboard Cabinets :: Dart backboards
Dart Backboard
There are two ways to stop your wall looking like woodworm has acquired a taste for plaster in your house, and that is get a dart board cabinet or a dart backboard, the thing that goes behind the dart board to protect your wall. The dart backboard is probably better if you are just learning the game or are just not very good at the game yet. I remember my local darts establishment put up an 8 foot x 4 foot sheet of fibreboard behind the dartboard. Whilst it was very effective and could be a way to go, it wasn't a design classic; you can do better than that.

The popular backboard is the octagonal dart stop backboard, as it is large and protects a lot of wall, perhaps not as well as that 8 x 4 sheet of fibreboard, but almost. There is also a smaller junior version as well. The other good feature of this backboard is the wobble free dart board mounting feature. You can also get a round version of this backboard if you prefer smoother lines. See below
For a less permanent backboard there is a folding backboard that fits over your dart board and can be folded up and removed when you are not playing. Just remember to put it up before you commence play.
Then there is the more traditional sort of backboards, the wooden types that have a carpet type surface to keep it looking good and protect your darts. If you are a NCAA supporter we have a selection of backboards with your teams name on it. And of course we have a Budweiser branded backboard, where would we be without Budweiser supporting just about every sport there is.
So take your pick of the dart backboards or get yourself a cabinet instead, when the doors are open, you get a similar amount of wall protection.
